Summertime. That’s the image I got when I tapped into July’s energy. Classic summertime fun. Barbecues, swimming pools, vacations. It’s time to take a break from the intensity that’s been our lives. Not just our lives personally, but the ridiculously intense backdrop of political and world affairs. Whew!
The world will not fall apart this month if you take small breaks. Stop. Breathe. Play. Sightsee. Wander. Plan a getaway – and get away!
We are ramping up to more intense energy toward the end of the month. Nothing you can’t handle. But you’ll be able to handle it better if you’ve had a break.
Anything that opens your eyes to the grander scheme of things is a plus this month. That means leave the couch and get outside. Take in nature – the sky, the plants, the fauna. We are all connected. We are all one. Bring this point home this month and you’ll have an easier time with the next while.
You don’t have to do everything yourself. Reach out. Connect with a friend. Pet an animal. Hold a baby. Gaze at the clouds. Look up at the mountains. There’s something much bigger working out here than just our individual lives. We are a part of that larger outworking. And it is a part of our lives. One inspires the other. There is comfort in that.
To Do This Month: Plan Your Summertime Fun!
Plan a retreat or a getaway or play time for yourself. More than one day, if possible. If you can’t go away, take a break at home. Do something close to home you’ve been wanting to do. Or enjoy doing nothing. Where will you go? What will you do? How will you get there? When? Who will you go with? Planning and anticipating can be a big part of the fun!
